Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You’ve forged a pact with an otherworldly entity that lords over the domains of illusions and reflections. Your entity might be a powerful entity originating from the Plane of Mirrors, a malevolent spirit that has been trapped in a mirror, or a tricksy archfey with a knack for illusions.

Regardless of your patron’s nature, its influence has made your very soul like that of a mirror, allowing you to reflect spells back at your foes, create complex illusions and produce magical reflections of yourself through which you can channel your eldritch powers.

As a Reflection warlock, your connection to reflections, illusions, and mirrors as a whole has caused you to develop odd behavioral quirks and strange physical traits. Roll on the Reflection Quirks table below, or come up with some of your own!

Reflection Quirks
D6 Quirk
1 Your face looks unnervingly symmetrical.
2 You often find yourself copying other people’s movements subconsciously while you’re distracted.
3 You prefer things that come in pairs, and hate to see a single unit of anything.
4 Your dominant hand, foot and eye tend to change randomly.
5 Wounds on your skin have the appearance of long cracks and fractures, akin to that of broken glass.
6 You often address people's reflections while speaking to them, instead of their actual selves.

Bonus Cantrip

Starting at 1st level, you learn the Minor Illusion cantrip, which doesn’t count against your total number of cantrips known.

Inner Reflections

Also at 1st level, you’ve learnt how to harness the eldritch magic left behind by your spells and solidify it into temporary magical clones. Whenever you expend one of your Pact Magic or Mystic Arcanum spell slots, you can create a magical reflection of yourself in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of you.

Your reflections have the construct creature type, 10 hit points, an AC of 10 plus your proficiency bonus and are immune to force, poison and psychic damage, as well as the poisoned, charmed and frightened conditions. Finally, your reflections automatically fail any saving throws they’re forced to make. The total number of reflections you can have active at a time equals your proficiency bonus.

While you have at least one reflection active, you gain the following features:

  • You can cast any of your warlock spells as if you were standing in a reflection’s space.
  • As an action, you can use your reflection's senses, seeing and hearing everything it sees and hears. While using its senses, your own body is considered blinded and deafened.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Shattering Glass

At 6th level, your magic infuses your reflections with volatile magic. Whenever one of your reflections created by your Inner Reflections feature is reduced to 0 hit points, it shatters with a burst of magical energy. Each creature within 10 feet of the reflection must then make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 1d6 force damage on a failed save, and half damage on a successful one. Alternatively, you can use a bonus action on your turn to shatter a reflection within 120 feet of you intentionally.

At 14th level, the damage of this feature increases to 2d6.

Mirror Ward

At 10th level, you can channel the reflective nature of mirrors. Whenever you or one of your reflections are targeted by a spell requiring a ranged attack roll, you can roll a d8 as a reaction. If the result is a 6 or higher, you or your reflection remain unaffected by the spell, and the effect is reflected back at the caster, turning the caster into the spell’s target. When a spell is reflected in this way, you roll to hit and can add your spell attack modifier for the roll.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Speculum Ultimus

At 14th level, you’ve mastered the magic you channel from your patron. You gain the following features:

Unleash Reflections. As an action, you can expend all remaining uses of your Inner Reflections feature at once, without needing to expend any spell slots. Each reflection appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 60 feet of you.

Mirror Step. As a bonus action, you can switch places with a reflection created by your Inner Reflections feature, provided it’s within 60 feet of you.
