Base Class: Sorcerer
The soul is a powerful weapon, and none symbolize that greater than the mythical battle born magic warriors of legends, Soulblades. Valorous soldiers of both magic and martial might alike, they meld these skills into a deadly blend. These powers arise from Acheron, Ysgard, or a realm like them. You, or your ancestors, could be a descendant of one of those realms fiercest warriors or impressed one and was rewarded with a blessing to become their successor. Whatever the means of your powers, your soul is marked for war, heroics, and glory.
Soul Warrior
1st-level Soulblade Feature
Your warrior's blood grants you a natural affinity for the tools of battle. You gain proficiency in light armor, medium armor, and shields.
You also learn how to weaponize your soul into a tool of battle. When you gain this feature you acquire a nonmagical melee weapon that lacks the heavy property. This weapon is your soul weapon. You become proficient with this weapon while you wield it, it becomes a spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells, and as an action you can summon the weapon, causing it to teleport instantly to your hand. If this weapon is destroyed you can expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to recreate the item after 1 minute. This process destroys any fragments or pieces of the prior weapon.
You can perform a ritual that absorbs a magic weapon within your reach into your soul. This ritual takes 1 hour, which can be performed during a short rest, causing the magic weapon to vanish granting your soul weapon all of the absorbed weapon's magical properties. You can't affect an artifact or sentient weapon in this way. If the magic item requires attunement your soul weapon now requires attunement. If you perform this ritual on a different magic weapon the currently absorbed weapon is safely ejected to the nearest unoccupied space and is replaced with the new magic weapon. The magic weapon also appears at your feet if you die.
When you reach 3rd level, when you attack with this weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls. Also as a bonus action you can spend 1 sorcery point to change your soul weapon's damage type to your choice of acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder for 1 minute. Alternatively you can spend 2 sorcery points to change the weapon's damage type to force, radiant, necrotic, or psychic instead for 1 minute.
Spellstrike
6th-level Soulblade Feature
When you use your action to make a spell attack using a sorcerer spell against a target within your soul weapon's reach, you can replace the spell attack with a melee weapon attack using your soul weapon. On a hit the target is affected by the spell and takes weapon damage as normal. You must choose to do so before the roll is made.
To be eligible, a spell must be incapable of targeting the same creature more than once in one action at the spell's current level. For example, the spell Scorching Ray isn't eligible, but Chaos Bolt is.
Spell Combat
6th-level Soulblade Feature
After you perform a Spellstrike, you can make one weapon attack using your soul weapon as a part of that same action. This feature can be used only once per action.
Sorcerous Enchantment
14th-level Soulblade Feature
As a bonus action, you can touch your soul weapon and spend 1 or more sorcery points to magically enchant the weapon for 10 minutes. For each sorcery point you spend, your weapon can gain one of the following benefits of your choice, the effects of which last until the enchantment ends:
-
Distant Spellstrike. When you use the Spellstrike feature, you can treat your weapon's reach as the spell's range.
-
Keen. This weapon scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20. It also ignores resistances to its weapon damage type.
-
Unleashed Blade. Your weapon gains the reach property and when you hit with this weapon it deals one extra die of its damage.
-
Warping Strike. Your weapon gains the thrown property, with a normal range of 30 feet and a long range of 60 feet. Immediately after throwing this weapon you can teleport to its location as a bonus action, otherwise the weapon reappears in your hand at the end of the current turn.
Ancestral Transformation
18th-level Soulblade Feature
You tap into the full martial prowess of your bloodline. As an action, you undergo a transformation taking a form of a myth of old, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
- At the start of each of your turns, you and any allied creature within 10 feet of you gain temporary hit points equal to half your Sorcerer level and are cured of the frightened condition.
- When using the Spell Combat feature, you can make two weapon attacks instead of one.
- You gain a flight speed equal to your walking speed and you can hover.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend 7 sorcery points to use it again.

Posted Jul 10, 2021You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Soul Magic table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of Sorcerer spells you know.
Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an abjuration or an evocation spell from the paladin, sorcerer, or wizard spell list.
