Bard
Base Class: Bard

Thank you for your payment of 50 gold.  You have started down the course of a true artist.  You will use brush, paint, and angst to cast your spells and fill the world around you with color and/or depression.

Always a Student

You can trade your proficiency in any musical instrument for a style/movement of painting (please work with your DM while selecting these art styles as their world may not be ready for De Stijl but might be okay with some Realism).  You gain proficiency in painters supplies, if you do not already have it, and can use your charisma(performance) modifier for any check on painting.  You also gain proficiency with a shield and can use it with your painting supplies as a palette as well as in battle.

Artistic Flair

You are able to summon the whip, Canvas Lash, through your brush as a bonus action.  The whip has all the properties of a whip (1d4 bace damage, 10 foot range) but is considered magical, uses your spell casting modifier hit and damage, and you are proficient with it.  If you hit a target with this weapon you can expend a bardic inspiration to do an Artistic Flair.

Action Painting

You use broad bold strocks of your Canvas Lash to share you arts pai  with a second target. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit and to any other creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die

Dada

Use Canvas Lash to Force an enemy to share your craziest concepts and a piece of your artistic soul. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target creature you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. The creature must succeed on a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be confused till the end of your next turn.

An affected target can’t take reactions and must roll a d10 at the start of its turn to determine its behavior for that turn. d10 Behavior

1 The creature uses all its movement to move in a random direction. To determine the direction, roll a d8 and assign a direction to each die face. The creature doesn’t take an action this turn.

2–6 The creature doesn’t move or take actions this turn.

7–8 The creature uses its action to make a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach. If there is no creature within its reach, the creature does nothing this turn.

9–10 The creature can act and move normally

Pose For Me

Use Canvas Lash to Force an enemy to pose for your art. You can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target you hit. The damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die. You can bind a creature with your lash. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or be grappled till the end of your next turn.

Gilding a Lily

At 6th level, you can spend a short rest to paint an existing piece of armor or a shield with a mural of the owner's great deeds, instead of gaining the benefits of that short rest or performing a song of rest.  This special and temporary mural grants a +2 to AC, while wearing the armor or shield, and until the owner takes a long rest. The number of times you can do this is half your spell casting modifier (rounder down with min of 1) and recharges at the end of a long rest.

Art is Pain

At 14th level you gain to ability to strike with the Canvas Lash when you witness others try to cause pain with your inspiration. When an ally that you can see uses a Bardic Inspiration die you provided them, you may make an attack with your Canvas Lash as a reaction. This attack may benefit from Artistic Flair but does not consume one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration.
