Base Class: Monk
The way of the Stoneforged seek enlightenment by observing, imitating and becoming one with the earth. Most Stoneforged sit under the tutelage of a stone giant, an earth elemental or someone influenced by one. The Stoneforged seek to understand the the duality of immovable rock and equally fluid magma. The Stoneforged see the solid nature of rocks as a mirror to a unified and solid self. Stoneforged seek to become one with the earth from which they believe the came to complete the cycle of enlightenment.
Stoneforged Mystic
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your ki through to become one with the earth around you. You receive the following features:
Stone Artisan's Blessing:
You learn the mold earth cantrip. Once per long rest you may excavate stone instead of loose earth. When you do, you may conduct an hour long meditation where your ki becomes one with the earth and allows you to craft one non-magical item by mystically shaping it from stone and earth nearby you. The properties of an object crafted this way are the same as its conventual counterparts save that if possible it has the heavy property, looses the finesse property, weighs 2 times the weight of the item crafted from conventional materials and its range is halved. Any item you create can not have a value of over 100 gold in its conventional non-stone form. Stone or other mineral(iron, copper, etc) of equal value must be returned in balance to the earth and is consumed.
At 6th level your skill as an artisan increases and you understand the connection between the earth and magical things. You may now use your Stone Artisans blessing to perform a ritual to transmogrify a magic item into stone. After the ritual is complete, the object is stone but retains its original properties and weighs twice as much.
Stone Fortitude:
Through your mystical knowledge you may manipulate the minerals in your body allowing you to temporarily harden your skin like stone to, close wounds, deflect attacks or make your strikes more impactful. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain 1 HP per level in this class.
- You gain +1 AC regardless of the AC calculation used.
- You may use Constitution in place of Wisdom for all your Monk features.
- You may use your reaction to blunt the incoming blows of your enemies when you are hit with a melee attack. When you do the damage you take is reduced by a martial arts die + Wisdom modifier + your monk level.
Grounded Weaponskill:
Due to your mystical bond with the weapons they create, Stoneforged Mystic's have proficiency with any weapons create by their Stone Artisans Blessing feature and these weapons count as Monk weapons. In addition, while a Stoneforged holds them they weigh 2 times less, double in range, and looses any heavy and two handed property.
Stone Duality
Starting at 6rd level, your understanding of the nature of stone deepens allowing you to channel your ki in new ways. You receive the following features:
Unstoppable Force:
You may expend 1 ki as a free action, when you do your unarmed strikes and weapons created with the Stone Artisan feature deal force damage for the next minute. You may do this PB number of times per long or short rest before you must expend ki.
Immovable Object:
You may ground your mind by focusing by becoming one with the immovable earth around you. As a bonus action, ground yourself to the earth and allowing you to weather your adversaries. While you are one with the earth, your movement becomes 0, you may not be moved involuntarily from your current position by any means, and you gain the choice each turn of making one unarmed strike or having a additional reaction until the start of your next turn. You may use a bonus action to end this effect.
Stone Unity
Starting at 11th, your understanding of the nature of stone deepens allowing you to channel your ki in new ways. You receive the following features:
One with Stone:
You have learned to become one with the stone and earth around you allowing you to sense things through it. You have Tremorsense to 15ft. When you transform using the Stony Body feature or while the Immovable Object feature is active your Tremorsense extends to 30ft.
Stone Strike:
Understanding the solid and fluid nature in minerals you can focus your ki to redistribute weight and hardness of items. When you hit with weapons created by Stone Artisans Blessing or an unarmed strike you may spend 1 key point to do extra bludgeoning damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.
If you use the flurry of blows feature and one of the strikes hit, you may use the Stone Strike feature once per turn on that attack without expending ki.
Stony Body
Stony Transformation:
Once per long or short rest you may pay 4 ki as a free action to transform into an Earth Elemental or a Stone Giant. The conditions are the same as if the polymorph spell was cast on you with the beast restriction replaced with transforming into one of these two creatures instead of a beast. All class abilities are still available in these forms. You get the effect of Stone Strike for the duration of your transformation.
At the start of your first turn of combat, if you have less than half your Ki and have not yet used this feature, you may use your action to concentrate on transforming. Your movement becomes 0, if your concentration is not broken then at that start of your next turn you may transform.
