Base Class: Barbarian
A Barbarian who uses their fists, improvised weapons and concoctions to fuel their power. Most barbarians use pure anger and are driven into a nearly mindless state to gain great strength. The caged is different, their's is a colder rage, fuelled by a desire for revenge and freedom. They have had their freedom stripped from them before, but they did not sit idle they made sure they had the tools to avoid this happening ever again.
Knowledge is Power
Your time trapped did not go to waste, not only did it allow you to train your body it allowed you to train your mind. Whether through self reflection, books or whispered words you have built your mind. At 3rd level you gain proficiency with herbalism kit and Investigation . Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make using investigation or a herbalism kit.
Unarmed and Dangerous
At 3rd level your unarmed and improvised weapon attacks deal 1d6 + strength modifier damage. Also while your hands are empty or you are wielding an improvised weapon you gain +1 to AC and damage and can make an extra unarmed attack as a bonus action when you take the attack action using your unarmed attacks or an improvised weapon. The damage of your improvised weapon and unarmed attacks increases to 1d8 at level 8.
Reckless Power
Starting at 6th level, your unarmed and improvised weapon attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage. Also in exchange for a level of exhaustion after the rage finishes, you can enter a reckless rage, often with the use of a mad concoction, expanding your body. While in the reckless rage you can grapple creatures as if you were one size larger and your unarmed and improvised weapon attacks do 1d4 extra damage.
Never bound again
Starting from 10th level you have advantage on saves that fear, paralyse or restrain you as well as any checks to escape non magical restraints such as shackles or grapples.
Back Breaker
At 14th level you learn to channel your rage into a final finishing move . While both raging and grappling a creature you can use one of your attacks to perform the back breaker which ends your rage. The creature must make a Con save against DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength.
If it fails the creature is paralysed until it is cured by an effect like lesser restoration and takes 8d6 damage. On a successful save the creature is restrained for 1 round and takes 4d6 damage. This ability does not work on a creature without a point to cripple, such as oozes.
