Base Class: Barbarian
Upon choosing this path at 3rd level, you have an arcane awakening: you can cast magic using blood as the material component for spells. This blood may be yours or that of your enemies, but you must be in contact with it in order to utilize your magic. Reaching your magical abilities requires awakening the burning rage within you: you may only cast spells while you're in a rage or at less than maximum HP.
To cast a spell, you must expend a spell slot but you needn't provide material components--only a copious amount of blood. The amount of spell slots you have available increase as you grow in levels. Spell slots are regained whenever you complete a short or long rest.
Strength is your spellcasting ability for your spell muncher spells, as you learn and cast your spells through force. In addition, you use your Strength modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a spell muncher spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier

Hunger for Knowledge
Many wizards hunger for knowledge on a figurative level, but you hunger for it on a literal level. When you eat the raw or cooked brain of a mage, so long as no more than 8 hours have passed since the mage's death, you may select as many as half your barbarian level (rounded down) spells of 4th level or lower to add to your Spell Muncher Spell List. You cannot add cantrips to your list this way, and you may still only cast spells of your maximum spell slot level. Spells may be prepared from the Spell List during a long rest.
Spell Eater
Your hunger for magic deepens, transcending from a physical one to an arcane hunger. At level 6, you gain the ability to consume magical energy, literally eating the spells your enemies cast against you and your allies. There are two ways to use this ability:
- When a spell of a level equal to or lower than half your Barbarian level (rounded up) is cast from a source you can see within 60 feet of you, you can use a reaction to eat it, effectively countering it.
- When a spell effect of a level equal to or lower than half your Barbarian level (rounded up) is found to remain on a creature, object, or place, you can use an action to eat it, effectively dispelling it.
Spells countered or dispelled by this ability do not simply fade. You inherit some of their power, able to use it in the following ways:
- If the spell is one on your Spell Muncher spell list and of a level equal to or lower than your Spell Muncher spell slots, you can expend its energy to cast that spell once without expending a spell slot.
- As a bonus action, you can expend the spell's energy to add a bonus to a weapon attack roll you make equal to twice the spell's level (minimum +2).
- As a bonus action when you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend the spell's energy to add a bonus to the damage roll equal to the spell's level (minimum +1).
- As a reaction, you can expend the spell's energy to add a bonus to a saving throw you make equal to twice the spell's level (minimum +2).
- As a bonus action, you can expend the spell's energy and expend a hit die to roll that hit die + your Constitution modifier + the spell's level, regaining hit points equal to the result, up to your maximum.
Once you eat a spell, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
Mindful Rage
Utilizing your brain for magic has organized your thoughts and emotions, allowing you to better focus your rage. Starting at 10th level, whenever you enter a rage you have resistance to all damage and you regain up to one expended spell slot.
Arcane Sustenance
Due to the increasing amount of magical energies passing through your body, your metabolism has evolved to take nutrition from magic. Starting at 14th level, whenever you eat a spell, you regain hit points equal to the spell's level. Additionally, whenever you eat a spell, you can choose to expend a Spell Muncher spell slot. If you do, you regain the ability to use your Spell Eater feature again.
Whenever you cast a Spell Muncher spell on a creature, you can dispel a magical effect of a level lower than the spell you cast.
