Runes are some of the most ancient of spell casting methods. Now often overlooked by many its power has been forgotten to time.

Inscribe Rune

Starting at 2nd level, whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher you can instead inscribe it as a rune onto any tiny or smaller item that you are holdings. This rune lasts for an amount of hours equal to your proficiency bonus. At any point during the duration, a creature holding the inscribed object can cast the spell using your spell attack roll and saving throw DC. Whenever you create a rune you can choose to also inscribe an activation requirement, such as a spoken phrase, a specific motion, or a state of being.

To inscribe a rune the spell must take 1 action or bonus action to cast and cannot be a concentration spell. Once the rune is used the magic fades and the item turns to dust unless the item is magical in nature.

You can have an amount of active runes equal to your proficiency bonus.

Eyes of the Arcane

Starting at 6th level, you can cast the detect magic spell at will, when you do so in this way it does not take concentration.

Warp the Arcane

Starting at 10th level, as an action on your turn you can distort magic you can see with 60ft of you. When you do so you can change the properties of the spell by shifting between effects of the spell. Such as changing the effects of blindness/deafness from blindness to deafness, or changing the effects of a curse from the bestow curse spell. Whenever you use this ability you can manipulate one of the spells you cast at will, if you attempt to manipulate a spell cast by another creature you must make an intellegence check against their spell save DC.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. Whenever you manipulate one of your own spells you do not expend one of these uses.

Runic Permanence

Starting at 14th level, the duration of runes you create using the Inscribe Runes feature is now until used. Additionally after completing a long rest you can choose one spell to have as a rune without expending a slot for it. This rune lasts until you take a long rest again.
