Base Class: Bard
Those who pass through the College of Comedy do so by learning skills from other colleges, and twisting them to create jovial situations through which their power may flourish. At home on stage as much as supporting their friends in combat, these bards have learned that jokes and japes do more than just make people laugh.
Heckler's Retort
At 3rd level, you are able to use snappy retorts to throw an enemy off its game. When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s roll. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the DM determines whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature deals its damage. The creature is immune if it can’t hear you or if it’s immune to being charmed.
Opening Act
Also at 3rd level, you have learned the importance of getting your words in before anyone else. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.
Practised Routine
Sometimes the crowd turns on you; in these moments, you have learned to act fast. As an action, you can cast charm person without expending a spell slot. This does not count against your known Bard spells. Furthermore, if the target succeeds on their saving throw, they are not aware that you have cast this spell.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Win the Crowd
Starting at 14th level, you learn to influence groups of people off the stage as well as on it.
Choose a number of creatures, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one), who can hear and understand you. You gain advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Charisma (Deception) checks against them for the next minute, as you attempt to beguile or trick them into seeing things your way.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
