Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Scroll Keeper is a support focused Wizard subclass. The subclass revolves around sharing your wizard spellcasting ability with your companions through Runic Spell Scrolls.

Arcane Inscription

2nd-level Scroll Keeper feature

You gain proficiency with Calligrapher's Supplies, and they can be used as a spellcasting focus for your Wizard spells.

Runic Spell Scroll

2nd-level Scroll Keeper feature

Using your Calligrapher's Supplies, you can transcribe some of your arcane knowledge onto a piece of parchment. By spending 1-minute and expending the appropriate spell slot, you can transcribe a spell you have prepared onto a piece of parchment, creating a Runic Spell Scroll. Runic spell scrolls function like normal spell scrolls but it can be used by any class.

The spell you choose must have a casting time of 1 action or 1 bonus action, must have a duration of 1 hour or less, cannot have a component which is consumed or has a cost and cannot be higher than 5th level.

A creature in possession of a Runic Spell Scroll can use it to cast the stored spell. When they do so the spell requires no material components and uses your spellcasting modifier. If the spell requires concentration, the creature that used the scroll concentrates on the spell. Once used, the transcription disappears and the scroll returns to a normal piece of parchment.

A Runic Spell Scroll lasts until you finish a long rest, after which the transcription fades. The maximum number of Runic Spell Scrolls you can have at one time is equal to your proficiency bonus. Unless you take a long rest, the Runic Spell Scroll will last until used. As an action, you can dispel any of your Runic Spell Scrolls.

Annulment

6th-level Scroll Keeper feature

As a bonus action, while you are holding one of your Runic Scrolls, you can recover the magical energy used to create it. When you do so the scroll is nullified and you regain the spell slot used to create it.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Scroll Savant

10th-level Scroll Keeper feature

You are adept at crafting spell scrolls. The gold and time you must spend to make such a scroll are halved if you have access to your Calligrapher's Supplies. When you create a spell scroll, you can substitute its attack and save DC with your own.

Additionally, when copying a spell from a spell scroll, you no longer need to succeed on an Intelligence (Arcana) check. Regardless of the spells level, it is always successfully copied.

Shared Arcana

14th-level Scroll Keeper feature

While a creature is in possession of a Runic Spell Scroll, the spell contained in the scroll is added to their list of known/prepared spells. The spell counts as a spell for their class and uses their spellcasting modifier, slot, attack, and save DC.

Creatures without the spellcasting or pact magic feature do not gain any benefit from this feature. If the Runic Spell Scroll is used or the creature loses possession of it, the spell is removed from their spell list.
