Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Empty Self go by many names; magehunters, voidwalkers, wizardsbane, but they all share one thing in common; tracking down and stopping spellcasters. The first of these monks are said to originate from a monastery deep within a land ruled by an evil mage tyrant and so trained in the arts of countering magic to overthrow their arcane overlord. Since then, their knowledge has spread as they teach others how best to resist and counter magic users in order to prevent those that would abuse their arcane talents to oppress and terrorise.

Countermagic

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. Additionally can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 1 ki points to cast detect magic or identify, or silence centered on yourself, without providing material components.

Perception of the Third Eye

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can sense whenever a creature you can see is casting a spell (even if the spell has no perceptible components) and use your ki to learn the nature of the spell. Without using an action, you can spend 1 ki to learn the type or level of the spell, and 2 ki to learn both.

Additionally, you have advantage on melee weapon attacks against any creature that has attempted to cast a spell, or has been affected by a spell or magical effect, since the end of your last turn.

Silent Mind

Starting at 6th level, you have learned to use your ki to silence your mind and render yourself more resistant to magic and magical influence. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, and saving throws against being Charmed.

Additionally, you can extend this silence outwards, removing magical effects from the world. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast dispel magic without providing material components.

Ki Cancellation

At 11th level, you have harnessed the ability to use your ki to suppress spells as they are cast. When you see a creature casting a spell within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to spend 4 ki to attempt to interrupt the casting the spell. Make an Intelligence (arcana) ability check. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the creature's spell fails and has no effect, and you regain a number of ki points equal to the spells level.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Null Mind

Starting at 17th level, you are able to extend the effect of your Silent Mind feature out around yourself. As a bonus action you can spend 2 ki points to create an area of antimagic around you, as in the antimagic field spell, in a 10-foot radius around you until the start of your next turn.

At the start of each of your following turns, you may spend an additional 2 ki points (no action required) to maintain the antimagic field. This effect ends early if you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell), or are incapacitated or die.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
