Base Class: Fighter
In the forgotten realms the weave controls the strength and flow of magic. However areas exist in which the weave has either been severed or overtaxed to the point of failure. In these “Dead-Magic zones” exists an emptiness unlike any other, a void that practitioners of this archetype learn to emulate in order to combat magical threats elsewhere.
Arcana Breaker
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level you gain proficiency in Arcana and one other intelligence skill of your choice. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those proficiencies.
Embrace Void
Starting at 3rd level you can use a bonus action to call on your training to cut off your connection to magic for a period of time. This state lasts for 1 minute, until you end it as a bonus action, or become incapasitated. During this time you gain the following benefits:
- You gain a 1d4 bonus to attack rolls
- You can identify spells without using your reaction and have advantage on rolls to identify a spell or magical effect.
While you are in this state you cannot cast or concentrate on spells. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Touch of Void
Starting at 7th level you learn to project the void in order to hinder nearby magic. As an action you can end a magical effect within 30ft of you.
Additionally you may attempt to stop the casting of a spell within 30ft of you by using your reaction to make ability check using str or dex (whichever is higher), contested by the caster making an ability check using their spellcasting ability.
You can use “Touch of Void” a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all uses on a long rest.
Arcane Shield
Starting at 10th level your connection with the void persists outside of its embrace. You gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
In addition you may add your CON modifier to all saving throws.
Void Walker
Starting at 15th level your connection with the void has grown stronger. While you are under the effects of your “Embrace Void” feature you gain the following additional benefits:
- The first time you roll weapon damage on your turn, the target takes an additional 1d4 force damage.
- Whenever you deal damage to a creature with the 'spell casting' or 'pact magic' traits, you deal an additional d6 damage, and if that creature is concentrating on a spell or spell effect, they receive a penalty to maintain concertation equal to the roll of that D6.
Call Void
Uttering words of magical anthesis you call upon the void. As an action you become under the effects of “Antimagic Field''. You do not need to hold concentration, though it lasts for one hour otherwise. You may end this effect on your turn as a free action; it also ends if you become incapasitated.. You and items you are attuned to are unaffected by this ability.
You can use this feature once and regain its use on a long rest.
