Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Either by curse, pact, or blood, there are some who’s souls are tainted by the Shadowfell. Some choose to accept it, and some reject it. Either way, the Plane of Shadow grants any tainted by its essence, special blessings of the dark. Those who accept their blessings are known as Shade Warriors.

In combat, Shade Warriors can be very deceptive. It may seem like an upfront battle at first, but in the blink of an eye you’ll feel a sharp blade in your back. Never trust your eyes when confronting a Shade Warrior, and make sure to keep track of time, for when dusk arrives these warriors become an umbra of death.

A small few warriors can control this power. Eventually, most of these shadow touched individuals are consumed by the darkness, becoming nothing more than an empty soul bound to the Shadowfell. Will you be able to overcome this darkness? Or will you end up just another hopeless soul, trapped in the Plane of Shadow?

Eyes of Dusk

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your eyes become infused with the blessings of the Shadowfell. You can now see normally in darkness, both normal and magical, up to a distance of 120 feet.

Twilight Warfare

Also at 3rd level, you draw upon power from the Shadowfell to perform special twilight maneuvers. As a bonus action, you can activate one of the following maneuvers.

  • Decoy. Summon an illusion copy of yourself in an unoccupied space within 5 feet. Once you summon your decoy you immediately turn invisible. The invisibility lasts until the start of your next turn or until you attack. The decoy shares the same stats, features, and AC as you. You can telepathically speak through your decoy and control how it acts, but the decoy has no turn and cannot perform any actions. The decoy disappears once it takes damage or your invisibility is broken.
  • Shade Step. Teleport to an unoccupied space within 30 feet. You have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.
  • Shadow Rend. A shade copy of yourself momentarily splits from you and attacks. Make an extra melee attack.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain expended uses after a long rest.

Advanced Twilight

Starting at 9th level, your bond with the Plane of Shadow has grown stronger. You can now perform more advanced twilight maneuvers with your Twilight Warfare feature.

  • Umbra. You cast the Darkness spell as a bonus action.
  • Shadow Clones. You cast the Mirror Image spell on yourself as a bonus action.
  • Twilight Blade. Temporarily imbue your weapon with the essence of Shadowfell. Until the start of your next turn, your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d8 necrotic damage.

Strength in Darkness

At 13th level, you absorb power from surrounding darkness. While in dim light or darkness, your attacks deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage.

Shadow Dance

Beginning at 17th level, your soul is stained in shadow. The Shadowfell rewards you. Immediately after you deal Sneak Attack damage to a creature, you can make an additional melee attack against a creature of your choice within 60 feet. On hit, the creature suffers normal damage plus half your Sneak Attack dice (rounded down) and you teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of that creature.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your half your proficiency bonus (rounded down). You regain all expended uses after a long rest.
