Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Fortune are exceptional at weaving magic through song and story, using merriment, cheer and dance to bend luck in their favor. Following the footsteps of the Temple of Woo (from the Mask of Uhramel), Fortune Bards are optimistic even in the face of what would seem to be certain doom. Often, they walk away from impending doom with a smile on their face, a bounce in their step, and no idea how they're still alive.

Unlucky Strike

When you join the College of Fortune at 3rd level, you gain the ability to make your enemies magically falter with their attacks and abilities.

When  a creature hits you with an attack, spell or ability, you may use your reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and reduce the damage of the attack by 2d6. When you do this, you cause the attacker to injure themselves, instead, dealing to themselves the amount of damage reduced from their attack against you. This damage is of the same type with which they made their attack. This damage cannot be resisted or reduced.

The damage by which you can reduce an attack increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 3d6 at 5th level, 5d6 at 10th level, and 8d6 at 15th level.

All or Nothing

At 3rd level, you gain the magical ability to bend fate.

You may choose one attack, skill check, or saving throw that you are aware of and force it to become a 1 or a 20. You may choose any creature as the target of this ability, provided that you are aware of what is happening, but you must declare your intent to use this ability before the outcome of the attack, skill check or saving throw announced. This ability cannot be overcome by any means short of a wish spell or divine intervention.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Aura of Luck

At 6th level, you gain the ability to bend luck for others. Starting at this level, whenever you or a friendly creature within 10 feet of you must make a saving throw, the creature gains a bonus to the saving throw equal to your Charisma modifier (with a minimum bonus of +1). You must be conscious to grant this bonus.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Friend of the Fates

At 14th level, you have acquired an uncannily reliable relationship with the fates. Any time you attack or cast a spell, your relationship with luck is apparent to anyone around you. You now crit on both 19 and 20, and you receive the permanent effect of a Bless spell. This effect cannot be terminated by any means, as the fates themselves have chosen to favor you.

This effect cannot be copied or transferred. Though this ability has the effect of a Bless spell, it is not a Bless spell, and you can still be targeted by such a spell. Antimagic has no effect on this ability.

Should this ability be the determining factor in the success of a roll, it is evident to everyone that you should have failed at what you were trying to do, but somehow managed to succeed, anyway.
