Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with not simply an entity of great power, but an individual or organization who were in possession of a most powerful artifact, a machine, which produces an infinite electricity.

The search for a machine which can endlessly reproduce its own motion and therefore endlessly produce energy has doubtless been the pursuit of many an artificer. And in a world of magic, the accomplishment of this goal, by whatever technical or magical means it was accomplished, has many more consequences than it may seem. Including the creation of the very pact you are a part of.

Through a process wherein your body is physically altered, arcane power is warped directly from the aforementioned Perpetual Motion machine to you as a part of a deal you made with the machine's owner.

Just as with any other patronage, the owner of this machine can contact you through your very body, and the patronage functions just as any other, despite its potentially worldly origins.

Expanded Spell List

The Pact of Perpetual Motion lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Perpetual Motion Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st Absorb Elements, Thunderwave
2nd Dragon's Breath, Shatter
3rd Call Lightning, Lightning Bolt
4th Fabricate, Storm Sphere
5th Destructive Wave (Must Choose Radiant Damage), Teleportation Circle
6th Chain Lightning

One With The Machine

Beginning at 1st level, as a part of the ritual associated with making this pact. Your body has been physically modified. Leaving you a mix of metal and flesh.

While you are not wearing armor your AC becomes 10 + your Charisma modifier + Your Dexterity Modifier.

In addition you can function as a light source, as a bonus action or in addition to casting a spell you can turn on a light built into your body, causing you to give off 30 feet of bright light and another 30 feet of dim light until you use another bonus action to turn it off.

Electric Fighting

When you take this pact at 1st level you gain the following benefits:

  • You learn the lightning lure, Shocking Grasp, and Thunderclap cantrips. They count as Warlock Spells for you and do not count towards your cantrips known.

  • When you cast the Eldritch blast cantrip it deals lightning damage instead of force.

  • Any Eldritch Invocations that specifically affects Eldritch Blast (such as Agonizing Blast) also affect lightning lure, Shocking Grasp, Thunderclap, and Booming Blade unless it would change the range of the spells.

  • Whenever you deal a creature lightning or thunder damage they become unable to take opportunity attacks against you until the start of your next turn.

  • Each time you cast a cantrip that deals lightning or thunder damage you gain an extra 5 feet of movement and cantrips that deal lightning or thunder damage deal an additional 1d4 lightning damage, increasing by an extra d4 each time you do so. This effect ends if you spend a turn without casting a spell or if you cast a cantrip that you have already cast since this effect began.

Improved Cantrips

Beginning at 6th level when you cast the Lightning Lure cantrip may move the target 10 feet in any direction instead of just towards you and it always deals its damage as long as the target fails the save.

In addition when you cast the Shocking Grasp Cantrip on your turn you may cast it twice that turn, this second casting doesn't end the effect granted by your Electric Fighting.

Light Warp

Starting at 10th level you can use some of your forward momentum to teleport. After moving at least 10 feet, as a bonus action you can spend half of your movement for the turn to teleport a distance up to twice your walking, swimming, or flying speed in a straight line in the direction you were already moving.

Jetpack of Endless Power

At 14th level you have what amounts to an engine built into your body that can be used to fly.

It takes any visual appearance you choose and grants a flying speed equal to your walking speed, anything that increases your walking speed also increases your flying speed.

In addition you can use your pact magic spell slot to double your flying speed for a minute.
