Choose a humanoid race (or subrace). You have studied their culture extensively and are an expert at imitating them. You gain the following benefits:

• Choose one ability score that race (or subrace) gains a racial bonus to and increase your score by 1, to a maximum of 20. For humans or half-elves, you can choose any ability score.
• You learn to read, write, and speak an additional language spoken by the race you choose. If you already speak this language, or if you chose humans, you can choose any language you do not know.
• Whenever you make an Intelligence (History) or Intelligence (Religion) check related to the culture of the race you chose, you are considered proficient in those skills and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
• When you use your Changeling ability to shapeshift into your chosen race, any creature that makes a Wisdom (Insight) check to see through your deception rolls with disadvantage.
