Thanks to extensive practice with thrown weapons, you gain the following benefits:
- Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls with a thrown weapon.
- Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls with a thrown weapon.
- When you use the Attack action, you can use a bonus action to make a ranged attack with a thrown weapon.
This feat amplifies some perks of the Thrown Weapon Fighting style, particularly drawing and firing in one motion. It is meant to replicate the advantages of the Crossbow Expert feat, specifically for characters making ranged attacks using weapons with the thrown property.

Posted Feb 23, 2022nice!.
I made a similar change to crossbow expert. i see that you also combine the main affect of Sharpshooter, by ignoring long range penalty.
i myself find this to be a tad too powerful compared to the original crossbow expert, and makes the investment into the sharpshooter way less useful.
in my version, instead of ignoring long distance imposed disadvantage, it gives an extra +10 feet to normal/long distance range
in my build my character has invested in the "thrown weapon fighting" figthing style and my modified crossbow expert, and lastly the sharpshooter feat.

Posted Feb 23, 2022Well, Sharpshooter ignores long-ranged disadvantage only on ranged weapon attack rolls. The only weapons with both the ranged and thrown properties are darts and the net, so this opens up the benefit to every other thrown melee weapon. I didn't see any overlap with either CBE or SS and throwing weapons...aside from CBE's negation of 5-ft disadvantage on ranged attack rolls. I struggled with adding that or not, since most throwing weapons are in fact melee weapons, but the Thrown Weapon Fighting style would lose its +2 to damage without it, which just seemed conceptually silly.
That said, I agree that it's a bit strong, but the long range for thrown weapons is still only 60 feet. I appreciate the feedback!

Posted Feb 23, 2022oh i see, if that's the case then it makes sharpshooter useless for thrown weapons build with the wrong equipment.
However i have seen rulings on the subject of thrown weapons that you can make ranged weapons attacks with them, despite them not being ranged weapons. The rules go: Thrown: If a weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack.
this means that "thrown weapons" do "ranged weapon attacks" without having the exact wording of thrown weapons do ranged weapon attacks.
you can find references to the fact that thrown weapons cause ranged weapon attacks, in some item listings, e.g. in "Hammer of Thunderbolts: While attuned to it, you can expend 1 charge and make a ranged weapon attack with the hammer, hurling it as if it had the thrown property..."
Being that thrown weapons do ranged ranged weapon attacks, sharpshooter is beneficial for characters using all types of thrown weapons.
sharpshooter though is not completely compatible with thrown weapons, the last point about the special shot can not be used with a thrown weapon, as this part refers to the weapon type, and not the attack type as the two earlier section of sharpshooter do.

Posted Feb 23, 2022I have played sharpshooter wrong as i have allowed myself to make that skill shot with thrown weapons. I didn't notice until your reply to my comment.
This compels me to make a modified sharpshooter feat, that especially applies to thrown weapons.
something like: "Hotshot" your aim is unmatched, you enjoy showing of your skill with tricks and skill shots.
edit: i have now submitted my modification to the sharpshooter feat, check it out i named it Hotshot
