rules:
1. Start at level 5. There will be ways to level up
2.All combat must be agreed to by both parties. If one does not consent to having their character be killed no lethal blow will be dealt
3. You may have up to 3 characters at once
4. Be nice. This is a place to have fun
5. If you are to play a ghost touched they must be under the age of 25 for reasons I will later reveal
6. No starting with magic weapons/armor or firearms. Those must be obtained in other ways
7. Keep track of items such as food or water
8. Romance is allowed but if it fades to black take it to PMs
9. Try to keep it PG-13. Censor your bigger swears.
10. put haunted in your first post so I know you have read the rules
Things to note:
Being ghosted touched allows the ability to touch ghosts without dying and communicating with them. You can also spend it on 2 other things such as a feat a stat increase or an explanation for your fantasy races powers. Ask a mod if you wish to do something special
This takes place on an island. As of now there is no way of the island
Ghost dislike and are vulnerable to the following: Silver, Iron, Running water, Salt and Lavender. The only way for a non ghost touched to destroy a ghost is to apply at least 2 of those at the same time
Fear levels are game changers: and certain things can increase or decrease your fear level
on edge: you have a bad feeling. Advantage on perception and investigation checks. Disadvantage on Wis saves to not be frightened or have a fear level increase
paranoid: Advantage on wis saves but be forced to take them in some social situations
drinking tea or taking a break with people you trust will decrease your fear levels
Some ghosts may have abnormalities which act as an X-factor
Ghost types:
Specters: garden variety ghost. Appear the way they did in death
Ghouls: Similar to Specters, but appear the way their corpse does now usually rotting. An unsettling sight to behold
Whispers: Form faint apparitions. While they lack killing power they can cause faint sounds that can drive one insane
Poltergeist: Form faint apparitions. Able to cause objects to float. Turning common household items into deadly projectiles
How to loot:
make a survival check. if it’s 15 or above you find something Roll a d20 with no modifiers how good you roll affect how good and how much loot you find
5 and below: no loot found
6-10: slight loot. 1 days worth of food and water
7-15: moderate loot. 3 days worth of food and water along with some salt
16 and above: full stash. 1 weeks worth of food and water along with salt and silver charms
for mods only
How to run ghost encounters:
specters (40 hp half during the day)se the base stat block for saves and checks as well as condition and such. They have a plus 4 to hit attack that does 1d10 psychic damage
ghouls (47hp half during the day) are the same as specters but can use horrific visage causing you to make a DC15 wis saves or have a fear level increase
whispers (14 hp half during the day) can’t do damage but can whisper and you make a DC 17 charisma save or be nervous (disadvantage on attack rolls) they can’t be applied conditions and fail all saves automatically
poltergeist (27hp half during the day) can’t attack physical but can make 2 improvised ranged attacks a turn (depending on size and shape either 1d4 or 1d8 bludgeoning/piercing damage) same condition and save rules as whispers
How hauntings work
In a haunted area ghost are more common though they still suffer from their daytime hp reduction. You can either try to escape and not get much loot. Or you can try and find the source of the haunting (usually a large ghost) that ghosts is special as they are bound ghosts. Pretty much liches. If you don’t destroy the object tied to the ghost’s death they will keep coming back. By getting close to the ghost you’ll be able to see moments close to its death. Using the information you gain you must figure out what is the source. Good luck. You’ll need it

Fencing armor is more padded, and would only protect against a dull blade. A sharp one would easily penetrate. Although the helmets are a different story.
