Depends. What kinda American school are we talking about? A small town American high school? A large city high school? An average size community college? The possibilities go on and on...
I grew up in a pretty small high school so you got rednecks ,and 'AG'. AG is short for Agriculture. A class given out in some high schools. Its kinda strange to point out American high schools cause all schools got their clowns, goofballs, losers ,and rejects. This ain't American exclusive subhumans. Just regular humans pretending to be normal people. They are everywhere regardless what your country is called.

The classy class clown passes cracked black brass glasses in class. (try saying that really fast.)
I graduated high school in 2012 so I didn't see any vapes in high school. A couple kids smoked, skipped the occasional classes ,and stuff. Then again I went to a small high school so we didn't have many delinquents to begin with.
Also what's with the myth that catholic schools are really different from the atheist equivalents? In the UK at least they're exactly the same (though my frame of reference comes from a state catholic school so it might be slightly different).
At least where I live in the USA (Alabama), private schools (most of them are run by a religious organization) are largely populated by the children of well-to-do, mostly white, people. Most of them were originally founded as a method of voluntary segregation.

Yeah, nowadays (I just graduated from high school this year) you are sure to see people with vapes hidden up their sleeves, blowing the smoke (whatever it's called) into an open backpack so they're not caught.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Also, in America what does "public school" mean? In the UK it's used to say expensive private school, like Eton, and "state school" is government run. "Private school" is for slightly less expensive private schools and college is for sixth form (as a separate institution (sixth forms are run by secondary schools). How do things work in the US? We also just have 2 schools (secondary and primary) so I never really got the idea of a "middle" school.

Lot of religious people in small towns too. Never met a redneck that didn't believe in god.
