So I am making custom scented character candles for my group for Christmas, but Im having a hard time deciding on the scent for our DM. I was thinking of possibly doing a campaign themed one(Storm Kings Thunder), but I thought that a more personal one may be better? I'm not sure.. the scents I have to work with are as follows:
If I was to do a SKT themed one I would maybe go with a Sea Salt, Lemongrass, and Sage blend? I'm not sure since I have yet to recieve the scents I ordered, but are there any other suggestions for a DM themed candle?
I definitely like the idea of making a candle based on the campaign setting.
Back before the pandemic I remember a booth at one gaming convention I attended that offered candles for various settings such as elven forest, deep desert, spice market, etc. This seems like a fun way to add ambiance to sessions.
Run Curse of Strahd and have a Blood-scented candle (which I've recently learned is a real thing O.o).

Go with personal themed ones. If you can't do a personal themed one then do a campain themed one. I can't be much help with smells because I never played SKT. Also great Idea about the candles.
Thanks guys! The Dew of the Mountain made me laugh! Unfortunately I only had enough money for the scents listed above which covered the character scents I wanted, and our DMs beverage of choice is coffee, or that would have been awesome. 😖
maybe make a scent based on what sort of feeling is in your campaign? If it's a fresh, and new feeling experiment with fresh, new smelling scents, and so on.

I'm a strong fan of Cider and wood scented candles... add in an ale or beer scent and you have the perfect tavern candle... But a Candle that defines a DM... hmm... I'd say a candle that is best in life: Crushed enemies, to smell them driven before you, and to breath in the lamentation of the women.
Hey all!

For a DM, it should be "Dew of the Mountain" and should evoke a fine caffeinated mist delivered to the senses.... Citrus and sugar.
Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.

not saying it would work, but you listed orange lemon and grapefruit, they are all citrus for "the dew of the mountain"
in seriousness, i would go with Sea Salt, Lemongrass, and Sage blend SKT idea you had.
