This happens to me too, when you go back to the page it will only have counted a single like. Despite what it may show you it is going back and forth on the like and unlike. I am not sure why this happens, I too don't have any extensions and I have cleared my cookie cash and all of that.
We've seen some issues due to the Google Translate extension lately, hence checking to make sure it's not an extension first. What OS and browser version are you both on?

Honestly, for me, it is not that big of a deal, but if it can help you figure out what is wrong, here is my information. I am using Windows 10 version 2004, browser google chrome version 91.0.4472.101 (64 bit)
Whenever I want to "Like" a comment in a Forum, I can press the button as many times as I want, and the count increases indefinitely.
I cannot, due to this, retract a "Like". The button stays as an arrow and never changes to an x.
