I'm not sure if this is a bug but when adding a Steel Defender to my multiclass Artificer (7) Wizard (3) character.
According to the text: Your tinkering has borne you a faithful companion, a steel defender. It is friendly to you and your companions, and it obeys your commands. See this creature’s game statistics in the Steel Defender stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. You determine the creature’s appearance and whether it has two legs or four; your choice has no effect on its game statistics.
When adding the Steel Defender as an extra, using the Battle Smith Defender type of extra, though; it seems like it only uses a +2 for a proficiency bonus rather than the +4 I assumed it would have.
There is nothing on multiclassing that indicates that this should be the case. So am I wrong, or is this a bug on DDB?
Edit: also, the force-empowered rend says; "Melee Weapon Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit,", however, the attack on the extra has a +4, though the spell attack for the character would be a +8 (+4 int, +4 prof bonus)
DDB currently lacks the functionality to have stat blocks in Extras scale with proficiency bonus. It's not the fault of your multiclassing.
Not just a matter of that, I think it was Tasha's when it came out it changed the whole stat block side when it came to how PB was applied to such companions, from what I know it also affected Rangers and Druids, not sure if that has been fixed because of that issue or not, been a while since I played either lol
