What options do I need to select to organize my homebrew race into a dropdown like the Elves have on the race selection screen. Currently they are all marked as the same race but aren't all together in one dropdown. If I need to put them into the same race group, how do I create a new race group?
Creating new race groups is not possible. If you (generic you) are creating subraces of official races that have race groups (races that have neither subraces nor variants don’t have groups), you can indicate that they are part of those race groups. But if you (both generic and specific you) are making a homebrew race with subraces or variants, you cannot create a new race group. Closest you can come is giving them name that start with the parent race name, for example:
Smurf - Blue
Smurf - Purple
Smurf - Green
Then at least they will all be listed tougher in the character builder.
