Make an Rogue Arcane Trickster. That class only has access to enchantment and illusion spells, I was able to choose any first level spell or cantrip. Is this a known bug? Did I miss something?
"You know three 1st-level wizard spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the enchantment and illusion spells on the wizard spell list."
I understand that. I originally made the character with this character builder. I did'nt see that at first. I've used other character builders for other editions, and things you can't choose because of class restrictions did'nt show up on stuff I could choose, or was greyed out.
Why isn't this character maker like that? It should'nt show the options you don't have. In the character builder it does not say any place about my spell restrictions. Not in the arcane trickster description, or when I got to choose spells. If you are just going by that, easy to mess up unless it only shows you spells you can take.
This is a direct quote from the Arcane Trickster, so perhaps you can point it out to your DM! It is a tad easy to miss.

You do have the option. You can choose 1 wizard spell of any school. Only 2 of your 3 spells need to be from the Enchantment and Illusion schools.
Ah ok my DM said otherwise.

(Bolded mine)
There is also certain levels where the spell you gain can be from any school as you progress.
