I'm trying to create a character and am getting:

Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our Authentication check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.

Try again after a Short Rest.

and have been for 2 days now. Any idea how to fix this?

Are you using a VPN? An adblocker? Any browser extensions? If so, try turning them all off and see if it works then.
