Running a campaign where DM has allowed us to activate subclass features at lvl 1.
I'm running a Paladin, which means I get to have channel divinity from the beginning. No spells, just that. To that effect I have created a homebrew class that is pretty much an Oath of Devotion stripped of all spells. This is just personal use and limited to the first 2 levels of the campaign, so I don't really mind that it doesn't get published for the community. I mention this in case it is relevant due to this particular error I'm getting:
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
Devoted Paladin is currently too similar to Oath of Devotion to share with the community.
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
The base class is set as Paladin, it has channel divinity as the only feature and I've set the required level as 1. I am still not seeing it in my character builder options despite it being set up 12 hours ago. Any ideas? Am I missing something really dumb and obvious?
Paladins don't get to pick a subclass until level 3. That's not something you can change with homebrew, even if you say that a feature is available at level 1.

To repeat what naruhoodie said: Paladins pick subclasses at level 3. There is no way to pick a paladin subclass (homebrew or otherwise) at level 1. I think you could get what you want by creating a feat.

I'm aware, that's why I'm making a homebrew subclass until I can actually get it normally at lvl 3. It's a homebrew campaign we're playing.
