I can't really find the answer to my question so here goes :) recently I bought the dungeons-dragons-core-rulebooks-gift-set and I am very happy with it! After creating a character with 'Outlander' as background I noticed it wasn't an option here on DnD when creating a character. I know why because it has not been unlocked/purchased on DnD Beyond.
So my question: I am proud owner of the rulebook gift set including the Player Handbook, does that also unlock the content on DnD beyond or do I need to purchase is twice?
No, owning/purchasing a print copy does not grant you access to content here. There are several long threads about the many reasons why that is the case that I can point you to if that would be helpful.
that said, depending on how you want to use DDB, you may not need to purchase the entire three books here. For example, if your only need is for the outlander background at the moment, you can just buy it for $1.99. Or, you can even homebrew it for free. (Although backgrounds are to my mind a bit tricky to homebrew as getting the equipment to work correctly is not very intuitive).
Anything you spend on “bits” from a book is credited toward the purchase of the full book if you choose to do that later on. That’s how I bought the Monster Manual over time. I bought the monsters I needed one by one, as I needed them, until there was less than $4 left to purchase the monster bundle (and there were far more than 2 monsters left to purchase). Then later I bought the compendium part for whatever the remaining amount was. I think I waited until it was on sale to do so.
you can find more suggestions about what to buy based on how you want to use DDB in the Buyers Guide linked in my signature. If you read the first post there and have more questions about purchase options, please feel free to ask there or here.
Do you know why it keeps rejecting my payment when i try purchasing it? For some reason it says i need a fingerprint. But i have NEVER used a fingerprint. I don't understand

Thank you for your reply! I will buy the handbook all at once and for other content probably buy it bit by bit as well :)
