I've been making homebrews for a bit (long time paper & pen guy, back at it thanks to digital gaming) and am *slowly* improving my tool tip ability. I've noticed the [ rule ] [ /rule ] tool tip doesn't seem to function (ex: adding "piercing damage" as a tool tip - yes, normally I don't include the extra spacing). I could also swear I've seen folks successfully integrate tool tips for stats (strength, dexterity, etc.). I've been using this locked thread for reference.
As a complete non-sequitur, does anyone know how to override the range on a weapon? As part of a homebrew (the creation of which spawned my main query) I want to limit the range to balance out other benefits.
Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!
If you’ve seen anyone tooltip an ability score like Dexterity, they were pro’ly just differentiating from the Ability Scores tooltip like this: Dexterity. Either that or some other tooltip like an ioun stone of strength becoming just Strength.

Oh right - you can do that like this: [ rule ]ability scores;Dexterity[ /rule ] Dexterity

Thanks! As you both said, I must have been seeing the ability score tool tip - I don't want to go *too* crazy w/ them but figured it doesn't hurt to put in the effort for folks!
@naruhoodie, how'd you get some of those damage one working? I can see some of them worked and some didn't: the second fire and piercing, respectively. Would you mind writing out the working tip w/ extra spacing, for example?

Hmm... Let's try some for "rule".
fire damage: fire damage, dexterity: [Tooltip Not Found], ability scores: ability scores
piercing damage: piercing damage
For the ability scores one, perhaps you were thinking of skills? Like Dexterity (Stealth) check.

[_rule]fire damage[/rule_] & [_rule]piercing damage[/rule_]
Just take out the underscores.
