If you take the fighting initiate feat there are several issues with the Psychic Blades: Attack under both the Attack action and Attack Bonus Action.
Thrown Weapon Fighting style does not apply +2 damage. I understand that this a known issue not applying to any weapon either. But I also believe this would have issues based on reasons below. But also...its been 2 and a half years. If you are going to be lazy and just not fix the issues just come out and say it. Our opinion of WOTC can't really get any lower based on the past few months.
Archery Fighting Style: Inappropriately applies +2 to hit.
Dueling Fighting Style: Does not apply the +2 damage to either the Attack Action or the Attack Bonus Action (confirmed with the Jeremy Crawford tweet that it would apply).
Understand the TWF Fighting Style wouldn't apply RAW.
I believe the issue is that Psychic Blades: Attack is classified as a "Ranged Attack" on the character page and when you click for the detailed pop up there is no Attack Type. This seems like very curious mistake in coding and classifying weapons. Again, if you're just going to be lazy and never fix it...say so. We can't have a lower opinion of you than we do. I believe this is why Archery affects it. Of note, other attacks are listed as Melee Weapon or Ranged Weapon in both the main page and Attack Type: Melee or Attack Type: Ranged in the expanded detailed section. Unarmed Strike, for instance is listed as a Melee Attack on the main page and Attack Type:Unarmed Strike in the detailed section. While I can't see the source code, obviously, I believe the Psychic Blades are not correctly classified in the database.
Also can Fighting Initiate only be taken once? Seems like it should be taken more than once choosing different styles.
I'm too sleep-deprived to bother with most of that, since I don't play martials at all.
But as for "Also can Fighting Initiate only be taken once? Seems like it should be taken more than once choosing different styles." -- a feat can only be taken once unless the text specifically says otherwise, which Fighting Initiate doesn't.
