I created a multiclass character with 3 levels of bard in the character builder. Most subclasses correctly give me spells known as expected, but I am not receiving the guidance cantrip for my bard.
You can reach out to spirits to guide you and others. You learn the guidance cantrip, which doesn’t count against the number of bard cantrips you know. For you, it has a range of 60 feet when you cast it.
While waiting for this to get fixed, is there an easy way to workaround the issue and forcibly add Guidance?
Double check that it's not already on your character sheet: sometimes if it's not showing up on the editor it's because it's added outside the editor and it's already there. Otherwise, make a copy of the cantrip with the homebrew tools and change the distance. In the 'available for' section, I think if you select your subclass it'll prepare it automatically. That might only be for prepared classes, though.
Guidance shows up for me when I create a college of spirits bard. What is the multiclass combo you are working with?
You asked about a work around: you can create a feat that gives you the cantrip. Probably easiest to copy the Magic Initiate feat and edit it to only give you the one cantrip.
I dug into this a bit more and it appears the problem is that it doesn't show up in the "Known Spells" section of the character builder, but it *does* show up on the finished character sheet.
For example, if you do Spirit Bard + Cleric you won't notice that your Bard subclass already provided it. This is in contrast to Wildfire Druid + Sorcerer which will show Burning Hands in its Druid's Prepared Spells in the character builder so you can easily notice that if you took Burning Hands on the sorcerer you would be taking the spell twice (some situations this is useful, but usually not).
