I'm unable to find the details, I need to change the payment method for my subscription. The current card on file is locked due to theft, I need to update a new card. How/where do I go to make those changes?
Currently we don’t have an option to update your card details. It’s on our roadmap for the next pass of improvements for the Marketplace / Billing system.
Wgat you can do, however, is cancel your current sub and then start a new sub with your new card. You won’t lose any current benefits before you get the new sub purchased as we honor the remaining days left on a canceled sub.
Just make sure to wait until the current sub has expired before renewing because a renewal overwrites rather than extends a current sub. Also make note of the date your current sub ends before ending it because once you cancel, it no longer tells you when the sub ends even if you're still subbed.
IMO: This should have been a day zero thing and should be a base feature. Maybe update your documentation to tell customers this is missing and what the procedure is when payment info changes.
My experience: I just spent 15 minutes hunting around for info that should be front and center on an account page - every other subscription service I've had to update today was comparatively breezy - to change my CC info b/c of a possible fraud event.
my monthly is past due, due to a change in card number. It wont even let me "cancel" the subscription because its already past due. So I am unable to update card information, nor am I able to "cancel" in order to start a new one with the new card... This is a big ridiculous. D&DB, please fix, I love you guys, but this should be an Immediate Patch fix.

I just replaced a damaged card, which now has a different CVC and expiration date. I saw the advice above about cancelling and renewing, and I'll set a reminder to do all that.
This site has a lot of amazing features, but I'm kinda stunned that a card update feature is not yet available. It's been TWO YEARS since that advice was posted. Seems like a core feature for a site that runs on subscriptions.
Crazy this is still a thing. Off I go to do something very counter-intuitive.
Maybe you could at least add some text on the account page to explain that this is how it should be done. I wasted a lot of time clicking around just to make sure I can pay you.

D&D player going back to the 90s with 2e and 3e. Didn't play for years and ended up skipping 3.5e and 4e entirely. Very excited about the openness and clarity of 5e.
Experiences DMing were mostly misadventures back in the day, but trying to be ready to be a decent DM now that my wisdom has gone up a bit.
Any idea when this will be fixed as I just sent in a query for the exact same thing. This should have been updated by now. I quite appreciate using this site but as others have said this should have been a priority over content.
Hi has this been fixed? I just found out that my subscription renewed without telling me, and my dad got it for me as a gift but I am sure they didn't mean to keep paying each time lol. I am happy to change it to my card but I have not been able to do so. Please provide an update.

I have just asked this question from Support. It's March 2021, so I thought maybe it would have been fixed by now. Turned out no.
The way to change your payment details is still press the "Cancel subscription" button.
Before proceeding with this I checked with support, as I love this site and don't want to loose my purchases, like my books or dice. Or even be restricted to 6 characters again.
This is the reply I got:
Canceling a subscription just ensures it will not automatically renew. You will have access to all the subscription privileges until the expiration date. You can see your subscription details from your account page here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/marketplace.
I double checked this with support. They confirmed, yes. I will have everything until my subscription expires. I have since followed their instructions, and I still have all my books, dice, characters ETC.
I have also noted down the date my subscription expires so I can renew it with my new payment details, in case I miss their renewal notice.
Hope this helps the next users looking for this answer. I also hope that this will be redundant in the near future and the issue will be solved.
Every other site in the world has the ability to update payment information. It's been 4 years, how is this not implemented yet??? I love DDB, but this is ridiculous...
I accidentally overlapped two subscriptions because I cancelled a bit early last year and assumed it would run consecutively but that is not the case. Now I need to change my card number before my annual subscription next month and have to cancel and wait. Bummer.
Seriously ridiculous that this isn't a priority "feature" for dev. It isn't even a feature but a necessity offered by literally everyone else. C'mon, man, you guys are big enough to afford this kind of option now 4 years into your operations.

Your best bet is to contact Support, I think.

Wish I would have read this first. I ended up double dipping. Paid for darn near a month... twice.
UPDATE: D&D Beyond support were really good at fixing the situation.

I'm kinda surprised this is still an issue... have just raised support ticket
