I have been trying to buy the new books that have been published on dndbeyond for about 2 months now, and when I go to make a payment it gives me an error, I contacted support and they tell me that the billing address is incorrect to the one I have in the bank and that I should contact the bank to solve it, 4 times I have been with the bank and 4 times they say that everything is fine and it is the store itself, that is, dndbeyond is the one that reverses the transaction, those 4 times I have contacted support and they always tell me the same thing is a problem with the bank, it is the bank, when it is not like that, I have previously purchased with that card and I have not changed banks or anything and now it does not let me buy, the strange thing is that the sigil miniatures that are free do let me buy them and it does not give me any error even having to enter exactly the same data ..... someone who has the same problem, or could we request that they put more payment methods such as bizum, transfer, etc., etc .... I am from Spain and it has never given me problems to pay so far.
I am also having the same issue. I tried with 3 cards from 3 different banks. The money was sent, but the merchant, WIZARDS OF THE COAST LLC RENTON, WA US, automatically refunded it.
I tried using a friend's card who lives in Australia, and it was successful. Why does it work in one country but not in others?
Here is a quote from the email from the bank I contacted:
"Our system check confirms that there are no issues with your card. The payment to WIZARDS OF THE COAST LLC RENTON, WA US was declared successful, and the merchant automatically issued a refund or declined the transaction. I suggest you contact the merchant directly to find out more about the reason for the refund or the cause of the transaction failure. This is because the Bank only acts as the payment method. I hope this information helps you."
WOTC told me that the billing address is different from the bank's and is exactly the same or that the CVV is wrong and was written the same, 4 times and 4 times that even after sending screenshots of what the bank told me, they continue saying that the problem is the bank and not them... maybe the payment system they use is obsolete and they need to improve it or offer more payment options for those of us who are not from their country (I am from Spain) and just want to continue buying books to play our favorite hobby.
It's also strange that when I buy a free stealth miniature, they ask me for the same information as when I buy the books, but I don't get an error when I buy them... Isn't that strange? One does and the other doesn't? When it's the same payment method, with the same card, and the same bank that's been rejecting me for months?
Sigil items are sold for $0.00, so I’d assume those purchases never actually contact the bank.
Beyond that, though, I’m not sure what to suggest other than trying another payment method, or another browser or device. No one here on the forums has access to your account or payment details, so there’s not much we can do to help.
I use Google Chrome, I will try another browser, but I only have that card payment method, which is Visa and is allowed, I don't use PayPal and there are no other payment methods available, I will try in several different browsers to test but I doubt they will work anymore
Another browser didn't help in my case. I've also contacted my bank, and they told me that every time I've tried to make a purchase the merchant declined the transaction after some kind of unusual pause from their side. On the other hand, at the same time I've managed to make a purchase from D&D Beyond Europe without a problem.
