Hey there, I recently attempted to join a campaign using a character that I had previously created, but I was unable to do so. When I clicked on the character, nothing happened and I remained on the "Choose character" page. I've tried multiple browsers and devices, including Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on iOS, with no luck. Creating a new character for the campaign works, however, though I am unable to use existing characters. It seems that this issue is quite recent, as I've not had to deal with it before.
Once you click on the character, you have to scroll down to the end of the character list and click on the button that says “Add Character” (or something to that effect). If you have a lot of characters, that button is not visible on the screen unless one is at the end of the list of characters. I was bumping up against this recently and was about to report it when I though to scroll down and found the button.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried making copies of my character and joining the campaign, I've tried leaving my old campaign to join this one. Still no luck.
A couple of notes:
No, the campaign is not full, I can make a blank character in the campaign.
No, I don't want to just rebuild him from scratch, I don't want to dig through my sheet and manually re-enter everything.

Can you try changing the name of one of the copies of your character to something different than your original character, and let me know if this allows you to add it to the campaign?

My DM just made another campaign for us to store stuff in and it works there...so I'm just gonna use that one (and it worked)
I'm guessing part of the recent "12 players vs 12 characters campaign" issue is what came up. I'm able to make characters from scratch past 12, but when it came to moving a character into the campaign past 12 is when it broke.

Have you received an invite link from the DM?
Have you clicked on that link? If so, where does that link take you?

Is the character already in a different campaign? It has to be removed from previous campaigns first.
Nope, the character is in no other campaigns. I just created it for the purpose of this campaign.
Try linking the character and the campaign for mods to check (not the share or join links).

Is the character already on a campaign? It needs to not be if it is.
The character is not assigned to a campaign.
Do you see a list of your characters when you click on the invite link? Have you tried on a different device?

D&D Beyond FoundersI believe there is currently an issue with adding existing characters to a campaign, if there are already 12 characters in the campaign.
This is unintended and the limit should be, as recently communicated, now set to a limit of 12 accounts.
