I am adding certain spells to a homebrew subclass I am creating, and am noticing that some regular spells are triggering the 'This homebrew Subclass has data mapped to it that is licensed content or private homebrew'. Has anyone encountered this issue, or know of any ways to resolve this?
For example, Crown of Madness is a PHB spell that is available for Wizard, but if I try to add it to my homebrew subclass, it triggers the error. What gives??
As expected, after posting my question I finally found my answer, in a location I had consulted many times already >_<
The Homebrewer's How-To FAQ explained that '[n]ot all PHB spells are free content, the only official spells you can use and still publish content are from the Basic Rules (2014), the D&D Free Rules (2024), and the EEPC. You can find them on this list: “Free Content Spells.*"'
The spells I have noticed causing an issue are indeed not among the free content spells. Problem solved!
