I can't access any of my spells or the spell page on the website via a computer, a phone, or tablet. It's been going on a week, and I don't know what to do. It only seems to happen on one specific character sheet.
Here is the error code:
f9cdbf6d8d924f83ac44b1df2ad7da41
b95de776f7604aaeaea84f08a2966f20
(I just tried to make a new character sheet and it did the saem)
What would I look for to identify "faulty homebrew"? My husband's character spends most of his time researching new spells and magic items, so there are a lot of homebrew spells and items tied to his character. Starting yesterday, we began getting the same error as the OP when accessing the spell list.
It might be a faulty homebrew, how do you make it unfaulty?
Thank you.
Looks like the issue is the Cloudy Gray Runechalk item, though I'm seeing some strangeness happening with the Silken Wile as well. If you could link both of those items (they don't need to be published for me to see them) I can identify the errors and explain the cause and how to fix it.
Cloudy Grey Runechalk has the attached spell set to use between 1 and 20 charges. The spell Skywrite is a 2nd level spell, so the maximum charges it could use is 8. (Level 2 - > Level 9) I believe however the item is intended to be used 20 times to cast Skywrite at 2nd level however, in which case that spell entry can be changed to a minimum charge of 1, and a maximum charge of 1. You've already covered the uses in the general "Number of Charges" section for the item, this section is just for expending extra charges to up-level the spell. :)
Silken Wile looks alright. I think if you clear your cache and fix the Cloudy Grey Runechalk that both should work as expected. :)
The Wand of Restricted Dispel Magic is the culprit here, my guess is for the same reason as the item I helped the other user with in this thread.
Check the charges on the spell built into the weapon. Dispel Magic is a 3rd level spell, so the maximum charges you can spend to upcast it would be 7. So set the Minimum Charges to "1" and Maximum Charges to "7".
It shouldn't be too hard for the devs to put up a failsafe against this bug. Either a warning in the homebrew builder or just an if/then line to prevent the spells tab from crashing even if a homebrew is faulty (since the crash is caused by trying to display info it doesn't know how).
Thank you! It worked perfectly. I’ll have to write that stuff down. I thought it was silken Wile because I created it versus the runechalk which I got off of the home brew share. I made a duplicate and fixed it in my own private copy. Thank you for your help!

I made a new character sheet with the same character and it's still doing it.

Do you have any homebrew on the character? Faulty homebrew is often a cause of this error.

Hi graphicnovel and Anhava,
Can you please provide a link to the affected character(s)? Please use the direct URL from the address bar, not the share link.

I hope this is the right one.

The culprit is usually magic items with charges.
