In my search for something new to try in dnd beyond theres a class ive encountered for 5e that doesn't seem to be registered. Its called the cardmaster class. This isn't my content and therefore feel uncomfortable to register it myself. Is there a way to get it added? Heres a link to the pdf.
Also, are there any variants to this class registered within the dnd beyond data base? If not how would you recommend multiclassing this specific class?
The class you are interested in is homebrew, it is not an official class for dnd 5e. DnDBeyond (DDB) only provides official character options and material. There are a couple of exceptions to that, as they provide UA (unearthed arcana) material if it is a character option and a few things from Matt Mercer, DM of Critical Role, related to their sponsorship of critical role.
Homebrewing full classes is not currently possible on DDB. It is something they plan to do later, but it will be a while. So for the moment cardmaster is not something you can use here.
Thanks for the info ArwensDaughter. Has any additional information regarding a time table for unsponsored homebrews been mentioned in another forum page? If so, id love to book mark it to keep myself updated.
DDB staff don’t provide timetables or ETAs for planned features. There is, however, a public roadmap. You can also watch the developer updates that are released on Twitch every Thursday.
There are two different issues/“features” here:
1) the ability to homebrew full classes; currently just about everything else (races, subclasses, spells, etc.) can be homebrewed, but not full classes. Full homebrew classes is Something DDB staff are considering implementing eventually. I would guess (and it is only a guess—I have no insider information) that it will be a year or more—perhaps much more—before homebrew classes happen. Note: I had been under the impression when writing my previous response to you that homebrew classes had been confirmed as planned. But I don’t see them on the long-term roadmap. Initially, DDB staff said homebrew classes wouldn’t happen. They have softened on that, and I thought they had said it was now on the roadmap. Either I misremembered and it is still a “maybe” or it is further out than what is shown on the public roadmap.
2) the addition of third party material to DDB. DDB staff have expressed an interest in doing so, but licensing is complicated. To add third party material, DDB, Wizards of the Coast (who owns D&D 5e) and the third party have to come to a licensing agreement, and that is tricky. In all honestly, I don’t expect DDB to ever take up the chore of converting homebrew character options like the cardmaster to add it to the database(s) here. That’s what the homebrew tools are for here.

DDB doesn't do time tables. They have "working on it now," "working on it next," and "will get to it later." Homebrew classes is in the "will get to it later" category.
