Also, now that beastmaster is available does this system not have the capability generate your animal companion sheet and have you select the animal companion?
Both of those seem like Basic things this should be able to do.
If we have a house rule that gives you a free feat at the beginning are there ways to add that?
While it doesn't seem to be on the timeline, I asked the same question because I give a bonus feat too and BadEye has stated that they will be putting in the option at some point to "break the rules" with things like this.
In the meantime, there are two things I use to bootleg bonus feats:
1. Have the players choose feats for their ASIs and then manually enter their stats to reflect what they actually are.
2. Create homebrew magic items that have the abilities the feat grants. Here's the details:
- Make the item a wondrous item and put the text of the feat in it.
- Give the item any modifiers if the feat provides them.
- If it's a weapon, create custom attacks
- Give the item make it have at least one charge. If it has more, or those in there.
- Add the item to the character's inventory and have them "use" it so that it shows up in their active inventory.
Because you gave the item one charge, the active item will show up in their Limited Use tab. This makes it easy for them to remember it and to reference it on the spot without having to leave the character sheet to search the compendiums.
It isn't perfect, but it works for now. Let me know if something isn't clear and I'll do my best to help.
Just checking in, I just want to know if there is any progress on the animal companion sheet? If not,can someone tell me what Liam on Critical Role is using for Frumpkin's sheet?

My guess is that he just has the cat stats copy&pasted into his notes somewhere. That's what I've done. And if you want to change your familiar to something else temporarily you can just look it up in the compendium. I've noticed that it takes him a little while sometimes when he needs to do some kind of skill check for Frumpkin for him to find the stats he needs for modifiers and such so my guess is its not super easily available.
I think one time he said 'that's in another tab,' so it might not even be in DDB. If it is, it might be the same workaround many people are using, where you create another character.
Hey, everyone! You can add the beast companion from the character sheet. Just go to “Creatures” and click “Manage Creatures”. It will then bring up the options for adding the type of creature, then the specific creature.
The Bard in my party has managed to convince 4 Troglodytes to worship her instead of the "Monster at the End of [that] Book". I'd like to get them added as Beast Companions (under Extras), but it seems Troglodytes are one of the few creatures that do not appear through the filter.

They show up for me. Have the player in question purchased the Monster Manual? Or has someone turned on content sharing for the campaign. (Content sharing requires a master tier sub. Someone in the campaign would also need to have the MM)
Can you not add Feats to your character sheet?

You can add feats with the Ability improvement class feature.
Things for animalcompanion/wildshape will be added fairly soon.
Thank you.

any eta on adding animal companions to character sheets
Any ETA on the companions?
I am also looking for how to add companions to character sheets
It’s been almost a year since the original “Things for animalcompanion/wildshape will be added fairly soon“ statement. Any update?
I hope to eventually add my familiar to my character sheet. Is there still no idea on when that will happen?
A long time fantasy fan with very little DnD experience.
I hope to jump into the game with both feet.

I've got mine just copy&pasted into notes.

Shayone | Hobgoblin | Sorcerer | Netherdeep
For my familiar I just have the monster listing page open in another tab on my tablet.

I've looked at the character sheet and don't see "creatures" anywhere.
You can find them under Extras -> Manage Extras =)
