I made a magic item based on the "Mace +2" and I cannot put this in my character's inventory. I do have homebrew content enabled on the home tab of my character builder. It does show up as under my homebrew collection. Under the message itself there's a message in red that says the item cannot be shared because "Dillion Mace, +2 is currently too similar to Weapon, +2 to share with the community."

Is the character you are trying to add the mace to proficient with maces? If not you may need to uncheck the default 'Is Proficient' in the equipment search on the character sheet. 

If that does not help your problem, please provide a link to your unpublished homebrew and the affected character. When linking the character please use the direct URL from the address bar, and not the sharing link.

I also just switched my character from private to public in case it's status would stop you from being able to look at it.

The red text on the item is just for publishing it, which you dont have to do to use on your own characters.

 Does the character have homebrew content enabled in preferences? Also, make sure the item is in your homebrew collection.

I took red to mean disabled and grey to mean enabled.
