We have completely lost access to one of my Player Character's sheets. The relevant character is GoHomé at https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/299697 and ever since a month or so ago, both the View and Edit buttons go directly to that same link. Cleared cache, tried deactivating and reactivating. Nothing.
I'm glad that the data isn't actually lost, but I hope this isn't something I'll have to do repeatedly. Can we get the View and Edit buttons fixed on this? Is it something homebrew, the accented character, or maybe the apostrophe in his username (RaymondO'Donnell) that's causing it?
Thank you. I mean there's no easy copy character button. Going through to copy over whatever little notes my player made to items and such will take a while. Hoping to avoid that.
More importantly, whatever caused this is a bug that needs to be fixed or it can and will happen again to me or other players and DMs.
It’s likely the apostrophe in the player’s User Name. Have them ask for a name change credit. If that doesn’t fix it, it may be the accent on the character’s name as well. But I know the apostrophe in the User Name can cause problems.
That's my guess too. Input sanitation is a pretty fundamental part of programming, but also a constantly overlooked step. I'll have him try unassigning the character from himself in the hopes that it removes that bit from his URL. Would much rather have it... just work though.
Hello! When your player's account was created, they would have automatically been granted a name change token, due to the apostrophe in their name. They can log out, and log back in to change their name.

I was able to reconstruct what the link *should* be by looking at how your character sheet URLs are constructed and pulling his character ID from the HTML itself -- https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/RaymondOdonnell/characters/9462902

Try copying the character and see if the copy works.

For now, we're using the link I manually built.

Thank you, Mellie. I'll let them know
