I had signed up with the app months ago when friend sent me a link to create a character. However, I couldn't add feats to my character at all. I tried playing it anyway and just printing things on paper and keeping track, but this made it very difficult and tedious.
I wanted to see if the issue was related to needing to have the pay service? My other DM said we could use the D&D beyond for his campaign, so i tried to buy the DM tier FOR HIM. However i couldn't see an option to send it to him or buy as a gift? Is this possible? Right now i just bought the yearly tier, so we could use for our campaign. Can i give my DM access to it so we can all play, or will it only work if I AM the DM?
Also, how do i invite my group and DM to this service so we can play online? We have had to move online in and use this service due to the quarantine with COVID situation.
The Master Tier subscription allows you to share all the content of your books with others in a campaign - the digital equivalent of bringing your books along to game night. Even better, it shares all the books owned by participants in the campaign, so if one of the other players, or the DM, buys a sourcebook on D&D Beyond that you don't own, then you'll gain access to that as well.
As a Master Tier subscriber, you can activate content sharing for any campaign that you are part of (up to a maximum of 5 campaigns currently).
Thank you. Do I need to buy digital copies as well in order to have them in this tier? Or is there something like i scan code etc on my books and have digital copy as a backup?
How do i send access to my current campaign? I wanted to get this setup for my DM so we could use it now that we are playing over zoom. How do i send it to them?

Yes, you will need to buy the digital copies. You can choose to buy the individual things: a specific race or class, or just the feats, etc. Anything paid will be discounted off the cost of the book if you later decide to get it. There is no way to scan barcodes or anything like that. D&D Beyond are separate from WotC, so they cannot provide you digital access for free since they incur licensing costs for doing so.
You can use the homebrew tools to recreate most things for personal use, if you want, and this is free. Anything so created will be shared to other members of the campaign automatically, without needing a subscription.
The DM will need to create a campaign on here by going to Collections > My Campaigns and then clicking the Create A Campaign button. They can then provide you and other players the Join Link so you can join it and add or make your characters. There is no way to change who the DM is - the DM must be the one to create the campaign on here.
To share content purchased on here one of the players in the campaign (can be any player or the DM) must buy a Master Tier subscription and with it go to the campaign page and click to Enable Content Sharing. When a campaign has content sharing enabled by somebody the purchased content of the DM and all players is shared with everyone else in that campaign.
Hope this helps.
