I would like the ability to lock a character from deletion, requiring either a multifactor authentication method to complete deletion, or a time-and-confirmation methodology to delete a protected character.
Seeing as six characters is the maximum for non-subscribers, I propose 4 slots for non-subscribers that can be locked, and unlimited for subscribers - Once subscription ends, they are all unlocked by default, so the player can select which ones they wish to lock and which ones they wish to keep.
I ask, because my 12 year old son logged into my account and deleted two of my characters, and a friend of mine got drunk and wiped his whole character list. Both could have been potentially avoided with a feature like this, and you know how seriously some people take their characters. :P

If you contact support with the characters’ names they can restore them for you. Accidental deletions happen more often than one might think.
That is a great point, IamSposta - Why not create a feature that can lessen the need for support to take action in the first place? Thanks for letting me know that support will Do The Thing in the first place though, that is pretty cool of them.
Nopers. they have a popup dialog where you have to type DELETE for deletion confirmation before it'll delete your character. that will scare the heck out of my son LOL

I hate to tell you this, but that was there before.
My mistake. I read your post too fast and I think that update took an extra day to hit the mobile version of the site or something. I thought you wrote had to “confirm” delete. Yes, having to type delete is a new feature.

In both cases, it sounds like those people just need to activate passwords/parental locks on their devices.
I don't think 99% of accounts would even use this feature. DDB doesn't need to protect us from ourselves.
