so im trying to make a homebrew weapon that can cast spells: Call Lightning, Control Weather, Thunderous Smite, Lightning Bolt, Thunder Step, and Lightning Lure. I've add each of these spells to the item via the creation process but when i look at the character sheet only Control Weather is showing up in the spell sheet. what am i doing wrong?
I do own the content that would allow me to be able to use these in homebrew.
I was running an experiment attaching different spells to a magic item with different charge costs. I made a wand with 3 that could cast Detect Magic and Identify for 1 charge, and Animate Objects at 5th-level for 2 charges. Animate Objects would not appear on the character’s sheet no matter what. (Before, on the old character sheet it would have worked that way no problem.) As soon as I raised the number of charges on the wand to 5, and set the min/max charge cost for Animate Objects to 5 (it is a 5th-level spell) it worked.
Are all of those spells set to use the same ratio of charges:spell level? If not, that might be the issue.
interesting. No i made the charge cost higher then the spell level to attempt to mediate balance (it's an Artefact level thing so has a lot of abilities) i'll give that a go
It doesn’t seem to have to match spell levels to charges precisely, just that all the spells seem to have to match each other. I made one item that casts a 2nd-level spell for 1 charge, and a 4th-level spell for 2 charges and it still works fine. I think it’s because both spells are using the same 2:1 spell levels:charges ratio that the system says it’s okay.

It worked! must say that is a weird issue but at least it works now. Thanks for the help. :)
Happy to help.
