Homebrew Race doesn’t handle option selection correctly after buying subscription. I feel cheated here T.T.
So before I got the subscription, the option select of my homebrew race worked perfectly fine. But now I can’t after selecting the things select the optional stuff in it and the ones that are limited to certain levels are instantly selectable instead.
Here is the race, make a char with it without subscription and you can select it all normally and make one with hero or master subscription and you can’t select stuff anymore.
The sub has no effect on your ability to select options in a subrace. It just means you can make more characters and add homebrew made by others.
Whatever your problem is it is likely caused by something else. I can understand the confusion from timing but it's not enough to actually think there's a relation on that basis alone. Post hoc ergo propter hoc.
I see you recently made a change, perhaps you changed something and this is causing the conflict?

I made that change when i saw it stopped working how it did before i got the sub. So I tried to specify a lvl on which it should grab the option didn’t change anything.
It’s layered like this. Race trait createdà edit à add options à edit the options content (some got an ability some got closable scores or a closable language for example) à (Modifier/Langue/Choose a Language) would be the structure for example of one option à lastly now when on the race screen on the character builder it shows the option and you can choose between the different created options. But it doesn’t register the contends of these options anymore so the 2 dropdown menus don’t appear where I was able to select the language and the ability score or whatever it was depending on the option chosen. (So the only problem seems to be that it doesn’t let you select the choose able things which it did before and also strangely the option that should only be available at lvl 6 can be selected at any lvl now ,but also none of its choose able contents containing the optional modifiers pop up.) I used the char before I updated that’s why I was wondering why my stats suddenly dropped and all the moment I got the subscription and what I saw was that seemingly the selectable all vanished. My guess is that somehow all the beta code that you get access to messes with the things a bit.
On an affected character, click on the arrow next to the character name. Go to preferences. Scroll to the bottom of the preferences pane/sidebar. Does it say something like Version 3.0.0-alpha.63 ? If so, you may indeed be right that the "beta code" that subscribers have access to may be the problem. I've seen similar reports today (and maybe yesterday) and being on the alpha version of the character framework seems to be the culprit. I know they are in the process of tracking it down and getting it fixed.
3.0.0-alpha.63 yep thats what it says it was different before. there should be an option to disable the alpha and beta stuff if you dont want it. just wanted more slots and contend sharing. I basically payed 55 dollers for breaking my contend. year long subscription to broken characters isnt realy fun.

I know it’s frustrating, but I think you might be over reacting just a tad in this particular case. They are currently fixing all of the bugs and glitches for this by allowing their subscribers to test it for them (supposedly, since we pay for it, we use it a lot), but then once it’s all fixed then the entire website will be switching over to the new sheet.
All this means is that the Mods can check out your problem, let the devs know, and then they can fix whatever isn’t working. You might just be the hero they need to solve something they never thought of before, but you did so you found it before anyone else ever has.
If you can provide them links to the affected homebrew (it looks like you did) and maybe the character sheet to, they can slay the Infernal Code Devil that’s plaguing your fairy and save the day. Basically, your like a quest giver for the intrepid band of adventurers known as the DDB Dev Team.
Like I said, I know that it’s frustrating, I just found a couple Code Devils for them to banish myself. One is on something from forever ago, and the other was working perfectly last week. I have a lot of homebrew to check, so I might find more for them. I’m not worried though, because banishing these pesky gremlins is how they earn their gp. Think positive thoughts, and I’m sure this will be resolved before you know it, and you won’t even remember being this upset an a month.
https://ddb.ac/characters/24902811/UJzd5e Here. But right this moment I am actually in a session with it. For 3 hours. I adjusted the things that should be adjustable in the sheet manually for now but before subbing i could select them in the race screen under the appropriate option called Natural Adaptation some of them give selectable when chosen. The Natural Adaptation final stage which is only selectable at char lvl 6 has been fixed that it can only be selected at lvl 6 but that one also gives options after selecting it and they also don’t show up. So it’s basically all selectable in an option that are affected.
So far most of it works again only the feat select isn’t showing up from the lvl 6 one but the other half of it the expertise select is showing up. The first selection stuff is all showing up again that’s perfect. Its nearly fixed thx.
https://imgur.com/v6NivO5 seems like my Dryad who had a similar problem also got fixed along the way great. so its really just the feat select that missing on the fairy stage 6. thx
Alrighty, so taking a look here let me know if this is correct for what the issues still persisting are that you cannot choose a feat from within the race option.
That is actually a known limitation, currently the "Feat -> Choose a Feat" modifier type does not work within an "Option". This modifier was designed to support the Variant Human race, which allows a player to select a feat when they choose that race. As no official content currently offers race options that let you choose a feat from within those options, this is not something currently supported.
One way to consider working around this would be to create either subraces or variants of your Fairy race that represent each of those different adaptations that you've created -- Beetle, Butterfly, Dragonfly, Humanoid and Moth. The ability to select a feat for the humanoid type of your fairy would then be available as a racial feature, instead of nested inside of an option. This would allow the "Feat -> Choose a Feat" modifier to work as it does in the Variant Human.
I hope that helps! Let me know if I missed anything.
Creating Sub races in homebrew makes tons of ugly copies of the race in the race selection. And doesn’t let you choose them grouped or anything. Like with the living armor thing. that’s why I made the sub races options within the thing itself and it worked fine so far. That’s why I was con fused. I like it the way I have it as its way more cleanly. But if that’s the only limitation, I may simply rebalance it to have the humanoid version get a something else instead. For having a lower base stat pool and a lack of abilities compared to the others. (Maybe a single luck point per long rest) I will come up with something. But it’s good to see that all of the rest works fine again.
THX case closed so far. I bet you all will improve the homebrew stuff allot in the future. But really an Option to select if you want the beta/alpha contend/code active would be great so I can turn it on if I want to test around and off if I want to use stuff that would otherwise not work.

Referring to the options of the Natural Adaptation especially the selection of the Humanoids language or scores etc! can this be fixed?

Hello SirAron, please provide a link to an affected character using this race so that I can take a closer look for you. Thank you!
