Hello! This is my first time using this forum, i'm sorry if I break any rules!
I was considering titling this for a feature request, but I think I just don't know what I'm doing.
I shared a homebrew item to the community. It was after I did it that I realized I couldn't remove it. I feel like I should have the ability to take back my homebrew items. I didn't know about this "flaw" and might've reconsidered sharing. Is there a way to remove a shared homebrew item? Or at the very very least, edit it?

It’s not a “flaw” it is by design. Published is permanent. That way you cannot “take back” something someone is using and break their character, or alter the wording to something inappropriate and the next time they look at the character....
This is just one of the very many excellent reasons to never publish anything unless you are 1,000% sure it is absolutely perfect.
Ohh, okay. That does make sense. I just wish it was stated in the same warning about not needing to share it if the players are in your campaign. That way people can know they need to be 1000% sure its perfect. I saw it in the rules and guidelines, but if its just as important to let people know about the campaign sharing, I think its equally if not more important to tell them its a permanent thing.

Thanks for the reply!
I agree, I do wish I were more obvious. Just do us all a favor and spread the word so that more folks don’t make the same mistake you and I both made.
What you can do is “create new version” and then republish it. But that will leave a ghost of the homebrew that will potentially haunt your future homebrew attempts, especially if it’s a spell.
I highly recommend thorough playtesting and editing prior to future publications. Sometimes that takes months, but it’s worth it.
