I found this when tooling around the character creation function. I had made a Circle of the Land Druid and took Swamp as my land and Melf's Acid Arrow was listed twice. Once as Melf's and again as just Acid Arrow. There was no way to delete the second spell from my sheet, other than saving it and editing it myself.
I can edit it myself but it's a hassle. Or have I become complacent to easy character creation?

Acid Arrow is from the SRD, a free version of the D&D game, and it is a framework that allows others to publish stuff for D&D 5e. Melf was removed from the name because Melf is a part of Wizards' intellectual property that Wizards does not want to provide for free.
They are the same spell in practice, but they are technically different spells and are treated as different spells.
This is one reason (among many) that I wish we could restrict content on character sheets to only certain books. The those of us with the PHB here could “turn off” srd content.
