Title says it all, I was unable to choose the Feat without changing the character's race to normal human from variant human. Pretty sure humans and their variants are supposed to be interchangeable.
Are you using the standard Variant Human or a homebrew version?
I've just tested and it works perfectly for me.

This should have been fixed - can you verify whether you're in a campaign or otherwise own Xanathar's Guide to Everything on DDB?

I didn't have a problem. Make sure the character doesn't already have it.
I am Having this issue now It is saying that Variant Human does not meet the prerequisite for being a Human for the Prodigy Feat
