I am currently running into the issue of being unable to share any of the content I have purchased on D&DBeyond with anyone else in the campaigns I am in. I have the Master Tier Subscription, so that is not the issue.
The biggest issue we seem to run into is that we cannot find the Content Sharing option an enable it. This is prevalent in both in one campaign I am in, and one I made up to see if I could enable content sharing.
Both of these campaigns have been made today, and that seems to be the only major issue. I do not believe it is due to me enabling content sharing across way too many different campaigns, as I am in quite a few that have me doing that, and there are other players who could enable it but cannot do so either, and I know they have not enabled it for the other campaigns. Plus, I do not believe this is an issue, but it was an idea I had as to why.
If anyone could let me know or look into it, feel free.
How many campaigns have you turned on content sharing for? The current limit is 5, although I believe it resets to 3 in January. (But those of us who have 5 currently won’t lose any, unless we turn content sharing off on one of them)
Exactly five. I didn't see there was a limit to the amount of times I can share. That is on me. Though why do they have a limit on content sharing? I can understand it being locked behind Master Tier, and to only books one person owns, but still seems weird if a bunch of people are meeting online over discord or something to use with this.
Also if this sent multiple times, I do apologize. My internet has been wacky for a few days.

There are limits because the content is copyrighted and is the Intellectual Property of Wizards of the Coast(WOTC). Unlimited sharing would be dangerously close to piracy. DDB has to adhere to their agreement with WOTC for such things. The original limit was 3. With the pandemic, it got upped to 5, initially only through May, but that was extended through the end of the year when it became obvious the pandemic wasn’t ending soon. As far as I know, it is set to return to 3 in January.
Think of it this way: you can’t share a physical book with multiple campaigns at the same time. Heck, even around the same table, only one player at a time can use your PHB at any given time. The sharing allowed here—even when it’s “just” three campaigns—is far more flexible and generous than what is possible with one physical set of the books.
If you want to share with more than the limit, you have a couple options:
-You can turn off sharing on a given campaign when that group isn’t playing so you can turn it on for another group, and then reverse. NOTE: since you have 5, if I am right about the limit returning to three come January 1, you will probably lose that sharing “slot.” I.e. you won’t be able to share with a 5th group. So in your particular case, this might not be your best option.
-The person with the content doesn’t have to be the one with the Sub, so someone else could buy just the sub and turn on content sharing in a campaign you are part of and your content would be shared.
Your question prompted me to make a new post/thread to ask about what happens Jan 1 to the campaign limit: Good News! It will stay at 5 for the moment because the pandemic continues (which is itself bad news, of course). See more info here.
Alright. Those are some fair points. Thank you for explaining them to me. Thank you for the options as well. Those are going to be helpful.
Also thank you for asking that question with the rest of the admin staff. That is both good for the groups I'm in, but sucks in the sense of everything else. Hopefully it fixes itself by this time next year, if not sooner.
Still, thank you for taking the time to respond to this.
