So, I create my characters based on RP not Min/Max.
I created a Blue Dragoborn Storm Barbarian, for the RP. all of the lightning mechanics work well for a Dragonborn who felt a call to the sea and the storms, and would always sail headfirst into all malestroms and maws.
I would love to hear your RP situations for Barbarians.
I've got a concept for a Dwarf Barbarian following the Sea Storm path. He started out in the army, got kicked out due to his chaotic nature and not controlling his anger. Went to the surface and work as a smith. Build a ship anchor and heard the call of the sea. Used his work on the anchor as a way to get hired onto the privateer ship. His roll on the ship was mainly maintenance along with fighting. During a storm, he was out on deck making sure that all of tie-off points for the ropes and rigging were holding up when lightening stuck him. Amazing, the lightening didn't damage the ship, but he absorbed it.
I'm prepping one for an upcoming campaign. Pairing Scourge Aasimar with the fire-based desert abilities. The idea is that his rage is driven by his celestial blood and sometimes when he rages he goes a little wild, surrounding himself in fire and radiant energy that hurts anything that gets close, including himself.
As for RP, he was directed by his Aasimar guide to become a folk hero, gathering up a militia from several close towns and leading them against an invading enemy. During that battle his Scourge/Storm rage came out, wasting the enemy forces and winning the battle, but a lot of his own allies got caught up in it. So he's a hero of the people for winning but has a pile of PTSD and guilt about it. To top that off, in the wake of the battle his Aasimar guide stopped telling him what to do and now he's just kinda drifting without any purpose. Of course once the campaign kicks off he should find a new cause to fight for.
I have a Desert Herald Barbarian who is multiclassed as a Celestial Warlock (will just get 6 levels of it). In background, her fiery powers all comes from her warlock pact.
Warlock powers are innate but since she's a bit dull, i decided that she had very little control on it at the beginning and so her first "warlock powers" shown are the flaming rage aura. Basically, her rage unlocked the potential she had gained with the pact.

I have a White Dragonborn Tundra Storm Herald.
He rages and wraps the blizzard around him when he charges in (BTW it is an Arctic campaign). The extra hit points for the front line helps also
Do not interfere in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with a variety of sauces.
