My friend says that they changed rage in 2024 apparently now nowhere in the rules does it say you can end it with a ba now I'm just asking but is this really true?

No, it ends after one turn on its own. barbarian (is it really that hard to check the rules?)

"Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are to fast: I would catch it."
"I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation."
"Well of course I know that. What else is there? A kitten?"
"You'd like to think that, Wouldn't you?"
"A duck."
"What do you mean? An African or European swallow?"
That is an interesting interaction I hadn't noticed.
If you decide you need to end your Rage on the your current turn (because you have decided you need to cast a Spell that takes an Action, for instance), under the 2014 rules, could take a Bonus Action, and end it, and Cast that Spell.
Under the 2024 Rules, you must let your Rage expire, and have to wait until your next Turn to cast your spell. (Unless you take 10 minutes to don Heavy Armor or Incapacitate yourself, both of which would preclude casting the spell for other reasons)
Since as a Barbarian, you're probably not the most reliable spellcaster in the party, it's probably a niche situation... but something to be aware of. Hopefully someone else can hit the Bard with a Cure Wounds before she fails another Death Saving Throw. Probably should have saved some emergency Potions.
Probably also wouldn't be unbalancing to grandfather in the Bonus Action Dismissal rule.

As the power that I've found erupts freely from the ground, I will cackle from the top of the world.🎵
