im making a barbarian subclass thats kinda like a mix between a barbarian and a warlock. they get their magic from runes engraved on the limbs and i was trying to find out a good stat that would make sense on what could be used for spell casting. im very new to home brewing stuff so any other advice would be great. im trying to make it a fair and balanced class that doesnt give off "the only guy worth attacking" vibes from it

just by any chance, do yall know a way to give a subclass access to magic? like adding spell slots and such? i know how to give spells like though a subclass base feat but not an actual spell list like how the other spell casters can have access to

Why not use Charisma given its "like a warlock"?
Con or wisdom would be good. Cause as a barb con is already high, and wisdom should be decent.
