You want your calculations to be 10 + Charisma + Dexterity.
Some might argue 8 + Charisma + Dexterity.
Unarmored AC is a bit finicky...you want to incentivize the player to maximize their stats if they want to reach a higher armor class...but you don’t want that Armor Class to become too ridiculous: so in the case of going unarmored, the maximum should not exceed 20 on its own.
This has an upside: you can introduce this mechanic early on...as early as 3rd Level when you get the subclass.
Monks receive their unarmored AC at early levels, too...because it takes time & consideration to raise those stat levels. A Bard subclass can note or less do the same thing, should you wish.
Though Bards get light armor proficiency already...so whether or not unarmored AC is “worth it” enough depends on what your subclass is giving for the others features.
Tentatively, you might want to give the subclass 10ft additional movement speed to sweeten the deal a bit...make going unarmored more appealing.
It might be copying Monks a bit too much, though.
But I’ve always wanted a dancing Bard subclass, so this sort of planning seems awesome to me!
I was planning on giving them flourishes, which one of them would provide extra movement. With the armor class reason I was going 10 instead of 8 is because that's how all the unarmored I've seen works. from what I've seen with Barbarian and Monk they have a very similar set up that can also go up to 20 really it's just if they are going unarmored they should be able to reach a decent AC. I would consider using 8 but that means unless they have a magical item that increases AC the max they could ever reach is 18 since I wouldnt allow shield with it either. The real reason with the posting is to figure out how to set it up in the subclass builder.
Update: also apparently you can't add - numbers to AC in the system so I couldn't even make it 8+Dex+ Cha sadly
Update: I finally figured out how to do it. turns out I just had to do bonus unarmored class CHA instead of trying to set it. Thank you for your help though man.

I'm creating a dancer subclass for one of my friends, and I'm trying to figure out how to set an unarmored AC to be 10+ Dex+Cha. can someone help?
